Littleboatdesigns - Commissions
Hi Liz,
Thank you so much for your email and asking me to create a piece for you; I’m honoured - what a fabulous thing to do and story to tell.
I have an idea and your message has stirred some thinking. So I thought it best to outline the process below and see if you’d like to go ahead before I commit pen to paper.
I tend to send across a sketch of my initial thought/impression based upon what you’ve said and if this works for you, I’ll work on the piece and send it to you via email at a couple of points in its progress and complete it for final approval.
For a one off commission I charge between £55 and £95 for a signed dated and personalised piece of art dependent upon the amount of time required to complete the work, the level of specific detail and the amount of work involved to flesh out the idea; before starting the piece itself.
Size
The finished piece generally comes at approx 9” x 11” (Roughly A4 size) and I can have larger sizes printed if you’d like.
Framing
I can arrange for a frame at an additional cost but often my clients choose to handle that side of the piece.
How does that sound? If you’re happy to go ahead let me know the size you’d like and whether you’d like it framed.
If you can work through the below questions and we can then come up with an initial design sketch and a quote for completion.
“Placing boots on and climbing the mountain”
Can you tell me a little more about the view from the top of the mountain.
I won’t do a likeness of the two of you but more a representation - with this in mind:
What colour clothing would symbolise you and would symbolise your coach?
Do you both have short or long hair and what colour?
Where do you see yourselves on the mountain? Top? Part of the way up?
What else would it be useful to share with me that might help me create an image that would connect with both of you?
I hope that all sounds ok.
Look forward to hearing from you
Stefan
Not only will you be purchasing a fabulous piece of art; 10% from every purchase will go to Mike Jones of @PuffaJones helping him in his efforts to provide a bike to every child who deserves, but can't afford, one. We think it's a fabulous cause and you can read more here.
We hope you love our collaboration. It's been great working together to bring this to life.

The Elemental BattleInspired by the words of journalist, author and cycling enthusiast Matt Seaton. A powerful image of a cyclist pushing on against the clock and the elements; intent on taming nature. The words read “In the elemental battle of muscle and bone, rubber and metal against wind, water and stone, the odds in the long run are stacked in natures favour” – Matt Seaton Limited to 50 signed and numbered prints this print costs £50 unframed with 10% of all sales being donated to charity Stefan | No RegretsInspired by the words of former professional GB cyclist Graeme O’Bree my intent was to create an image which placed us in the mind-set of the cyclist training to gain the advantage. The words read “My biggest fear isn’t crashing the bike at 85 miles per hour and losing my skin – it’s sitting at 90 and thinking I wish I’d done more…” – Graeme Obree Limited to 50 signed and numbered prints this print costs £50 with 10% of all sales donated to charity Stefan | Lose only the victoryInspired by the words of former professional GB cyclist David Millar my intent was to create an emotive image of a cyclist who gave everything they had to win; only to miss out in the final metres; a hearts and minds victory for the crowed . The words read “The manner in which one loses the battle can sometimes outshine the victory” - David Millar Limited to 50 signed and numbered prints this print costs £50 with 10% of every print donated to charity. The ClimberInspired by the words of multi "king of the mountains’” winner Richard Virenque my intent was to create an image which would highlight the courage, strength and conviction of the professional climber. The words read “Climbers suffer the same as the other riders, but they suffer in a different way. You feel the pain but you’re glad to be there” – Richard Virenque Limited to 50 signed and numbered prints this print costs £50 with 10% of all sales donated to charity.
